Belmont University served as host for Tennessee's first-ever Presidential Debate on October 7, 2008, an event that brought the spotlight of the world to Belmont and Nashville. Over 2,500 reporters and all major networks coverd the event live from the Curb Event Center on Belmont's campus. Long-time NBC anchor Tom Brokaw moderated the debate.
