Windows throughout the world usually serve as "eyes" of a structure and add to the "personality" of various architectural styles. This is very true in Nashville buildings.

And to portray Nashville window detailing, in 2005 Phil Ponder's lithograph shows a variety of windows and their character and function as important features on historic buildings in Music City.

The windows illustrated are: Silver Dollar (originally a saloon located at Broadway and Second Avenue, now commercial - 1893), Assumption Church (Seventh and Monroe in Germantown area - 1859), Second Avenue (three buildings in Market Street area - late 1800's), Cheekwood Mansion (Cheek family home, now museum/cultural center - 1933), Union Station (railroad center, now hotel - 1900), Grassmere (estate/home of Dunn family, now site of Nashville Zoo - original portion 1811), Two Rivers (McGavock family mansion, now owned by the city of Nashville - 1859), U.S. Customs House (Federal Building, now offices/courtrooms - conerstone 1877), Southern Turf (Fourth Avenue hotel, now offices - 1894), Reservoir Hill (pump house atop Eighth Avenue South reservoir site - 1889).
