Every circus and carnival that roamed the country in the early days had a clown or two. “Dr. Hissyfitt’s Cavalcade of Calamity and Side Show Extravaganza” was no exception. But most clowns are funny and amusing —you know, entertaining. Mr. Punkte… not so much. (Actually, not at all.) Seems he always thought he would be the next “Grock,” the famous Swiss clown of the late 19th century. But alas, it was not to be, as the best gig he could get was with Dr. Hissyfitt. Punkte spent most of his time being surly to everybody and muttering under his breath to his dog, Caramel, which he carried with him everywhere he went….
