Originally from East Tennessee and now a resident of Nashville for the past 22 years, Duane has been involved in photography for over 40 years. Primarily a landscape photographer, Duane began a quest to visit every National Park in the U.S. and Canada which is almost complete with the exception of Alaska.
Photography is an integral part of the digital art process. All pieces start with at least one photograph and most have up to ten different images. The work then begins in photoshop and involves combining and working the images in various methods, these images contain a minimum of 200 different layers with some over 1,000 layers.
In the 2012 PPA (Professional Photographers Association) Duane had 4 merited images in the Master of Digital Arts category, with "Tree Squared" being accepted into the prestigious PPA loan collection.
In 2013, Duane had 5 merited images and 5 images were accepted into the prestigious PPA loan collection. His image "The Linear Forest" was nominated for the PPA Grand Image Award and was in the top ten in the Master Artist category of the prestigious PPA international Grand Imaging Awards.
The Board and Council of the Professional Photographers of America awarded Duane the degree of "Master Artist" in 2015 and awarded him the degree of "Master Photographer" in 2016.
Duanes images are printed on metal. These contemporary styled images are printed directly onto high quality aluminum with 1/8" rounded corners through a dye sublimation process for a clean and lasting final product.
