LingTee Hailey

Born and raised in central and south Florida. Has been a recognized artist since winning the first of many awards in 1938. Mostly self-taught but had two years commercial art with private instructor, three years of architectural drawing, and five years of oil painting with Marion Cook at Watkins, two years of pastels with Willadean Thompson and, most recently with Mildred Williams. No preference of media-equally comfortable with pencil, charcoal, oil, acrylic, pastel and watercolor. Works in sizes from 2’x2’ to stage sets. Many shows in Florida, Texas, Kentucky, South Carolina, and Tennessee including two family shows at Parthenon with husband, four children and sister.  Worked professionally as a designer for one local and two major architectural and engineering firms. Retired in 1997 after more than thirty years. Member of Donelson Senior Center since 1998. Served as art instructor five years. Serve on Advisory Council. Arts council and Building committee. Member of Tennessee Art League for many years serving several offices including president. Frequently works with Theater director, Kaine Riggan, on production.
