George Inslee

George first began oil painting in 1994, taking an art class for relaxation.  His subject matter focuses on landscapes and architecture but has included wildlife and domesticated animals.  Most of his work is inspired by places he has photographed from family travels.  He paints commission work either from client’s photographs or photos he takes of the subject matter.  George’s art is intended to evoke a sense of stillness and contemplation.  It is reflective of “places time has tried” and settings where one would desire to seek respite.  His work has been awarded “Best of Show” at the Wilson County Fair in Lebanon, TN, the Tennessee State Fair and “First Place” at the Heydel Fine Arts Center, Cumberland University.  His work is exhibited at Picture This Custom Framing & Gallery in Hermitage, TN as well as in private collections in Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, Illinois, Maine, Minnesota and Pennsylvania.
